Residents in Melbourne’s west up in arms over looming commuter chaos
Residents in the west are being advised to work from home and travel on roads during off-peak times to avoid commuter chaos.
West Gate Tunnel works will see the closure of Dynon Road in West Melbourne between Dryburgh St and the CityLink ramps in both directions from 8pm on June 16 until August 31. The outbound entry from Geelong Rd, Brooklyn, on to the Princes Freeway will also be shut until August 2.
There will also be major disruptions on the Sunbury, Werribee and Williamstown train lines from June 23 to July 9. Buses will replace trains on the Sunbury Line between Flagstaff and Sunshine or Watergardens and between Flagstaff and Newport or Williamson on the Werribee and Williamstown lines.
