‘Really dangerous’: Why Collingwood shouldn’t revisit past glories to help snap winless start to 2024

Coaching great Leigh Matthews has warned Collingwood against revisiting their past premiership glories in a bid to turn around their winless start to the season.

Craig McRae’s side is facing an early-season crunch game against St Kilda on Thursday night, as they go searching for their first premiership points of 2024.

But as the Pies look for the formula to help find their premiership-winning, Matthews said they shouldn’t go back to what they were doing last year.

“You might get some learnings or you might be revisiting the past (by looking back to what they did last season),” he said on Wide World of Sports.

“That’s always really dangerous.”
