RUMOUR CONFIRMED

An amazing feat was achieved at an under-15s cricket semi-final earlier this month.

There was a hat-trick!

Endeavour Hills Cricket Club’s under-15s team was playing on Labor Day when they achieved the impressive feat.

“The fist ball was bowled by the left arm spinner, it was the 18th over of the game, it was the third ball of the over, it was hit out to the mid-wicket area where there was a drop catch, and ricocheted off to another fieldsman who threw the ball in to the wicketkeeper and ran one of the batsmen out,” secretary of Endeavour Hills Cricket Club, David Anning, told Ross and Russel.

The same fieldsman threw the ball back in to the wicketkeeper in the next run.

“In the fifth ball of the over, a similar scenario but obviously to a different fieldsman,” Mr Anning said.

“Thee runouts in successive balls — so a team hat-trick!”
