Rail strike to shut down Melbourne’s train network next month
Trains across Melbourne will come to a halt on two days next month as union members take part in the city’s first major train strike since 2015.
Four-hour stoppages will be held between 10am and 2pm on Friday, October 6 and Wednesday, October 11.
They’ll impact the entire Metro rail network.
Union members are striking as part of an escalating pay dispute. They’re seeking a 17 per cent pay rise over four years.
