There’s a push to introduce a new type of leave across the federal public service.

Associate professor in the school of business at UNSW, Sue Williamson, says the push stems from a government review into the Maternity Leave (Commonwealth Employees) Act, which “hadn’t been touched for the last 50 years”.

Professor Williamson told Tom Elliott the change in the public sector would “send a message to the private sector”.
