Push for sugar tax reignites after brands caught quietly increasing sugar content in soft drinks
Health officials, and experts are calling for a sugar tax, after brands were caught increasing the sugar content in soft drinks.
Vice President of the Australian Medical Association, Dr Danielle McMullen, says the policy proposal is a win-win, and Australia is behind internationally when it comes to a tax.
“Australia is behind, at least 95 other jurisdictions now … We’re lagging the rest of the world now,” she told Heidi Murphy, filling in for Jacqui Felgate.
