Protesters at Port of Melbourne cause ‘massive’ morning peak delays
Climate activists have blockaded the Port of Melbourne for the second day in a row.
A protester has climbed up a monopole at the front gates and trucks are banked back waiting to get in, and Andrew Crook from the Department of Transport says it’s having a “big knock on effect for freeways”.

There are “massive delays” on the Tullamarine Freeway inbound after Bell Street, and delays on the Westgate Freeway inbound from Werribee.
Blockade Australia media liaison Zelda say the group is “protesting about corporate driven climate collapse and Australia’s contribution to that”.
“It’s our whole economic system that’s destroying the planet,” she told Neil Mitchell.
