‘Pretty upset’ eyewitness calls 3AW after serious assault at Port Melbourne tobacco store

A woman has been rushed to hospital after a serious incident took place at a Port Melbourne tobacco store on Tuesday morning.
Police confirmed that a man assaulted a woman in a shop on Bay Street at about 9:40am, with the offender fleeing on foot.

Russel was on the scene and said told 3AW he was “pretty upset” at what he saw too place.
“There’s about 4-5 police cars and the lady proprietor has been taken to hospital with serious injuries,” he told Tony Jones.
“I’m pretty upset because I’ve known the lady for years.”
A female shop worker was attacked. She’s been taken to hospital with serious injuries. The attacker fled the scene before emergency services arrived. He’s described as Caucasian with a solid build, aged in his 40’s and wearing a blue hoodie.@3AW693 https://t.co/8Sqm7pSN1g
