‘Pretty privilege’: What is it, and is it real?
A study has found a correlation between attractiveness and success, with researchers believing unconscious bias delivers better-looking people better pay, better marks and better employment opportunities.
Dr Lauren Rosewarne said there had been a number of studies on “pretty privilege” over the years.
“But being good looking is subjective, so there other factors that kind of determine beauty standards,” the Associate Professor at School of Social and Political Sciences at the University of Melbourne told Tom Elliott during their regular Educate Me! segment.
