Nick McKenzie sheds light on Australia’s top spy chief’s ‘secret’ China visit

Investigate journalist with The Age, Nick McKenzie, has shed light on Australian Security Intelligence Organisation (ASIO) boss Mike Burgess’ secret trip to China.

McKenzie told Ross and Russel the secret trip was in the middle of 2023, months before Anthony Albanese’s trip and around a similar time to Daniel Andrews’ “very controversial” visit to China.

“It is pretty extraordinary,” he said on 3AW Breakfast.
