New roadmap details: Premier announces ‘fundamental changes’ coming to COVID-19 rules
Victoria is set to his 80 per cent double dose COVID-19 vaccination among people aged 16 and older in five days.
From 6pm on Friday, regional Victoria and metropolitan Melbourne will move forward with the same restrictions. Free travel will be permitted across the state.
Changes at 80% double-dose vaccination among Victorians aged 16+ (From 6pm Friday):
- Restaurants, pubs, gyms and hairdressers will open with no caps subject to 1 a per 4sqm limit, if all staff and patrons are fully vaccinated.
- Most outdoor settings will remain at 1 per 2sqm limit up to 500 people, where staff and patrons are fully vaccinated.
- Weddings, funerals and religious gatherings can have up to 150 people indoors (subject to 1 a per 4sqm limit) and 500 outdoors (subject to 1 per 2sqm limit) if all attendees are fully vaccinated.
- Caps of 30 people will apply for weddings, funerals and religious gatherings if vaccination status is unknown.
- Masks only required indoors.
- Up to 30 people can gather in outdoor public spaces.
- Indoor retail reopens.
When the state reaches 90 per cent double dose vaccination among people aged 12 and above, which may be as early as 24 November, Premier Daniel Andrews says there will be “fundamental changes” to the state’s COVID-19 rules.
Changes at 90% double-dose vaccination among Victorians aged 12+ (projected to be 24 November):
- No gathering limits, capacity and density limits will apply.
- Major events will be able to proceed for the fully vaccinated.
- On site work returns for anyone fully vaccinated.
- Masks no longer required except in limited high-risk or low vaccinated settings and where is it difficult to socially distance.
