Victoria has reduced the interval between second and third COVID-19 doses from four months to three months, effective immediately.

The change means another 1.2 million Victorians are now eligible for their third dose.

“It is safe, it’s effective and it just means the total number of people who are eligible increases substantially,” Premier Daniel Andrews said.

“Please come forward, make an appointment.”

A four-day booster blitz at state-run centres will be conducted from this Friday to Monday, with extended vaccine hub hours and 60,000 more appointments available at key vaccination centres.

Walk up vaccinations will be available at:

  • Royal Exhibition Building (walk-up access available 8am to 8pm during blitz)
  • Latrobe University Bundoora (walk-up 8am to 8pm)
  • Sandown Racecourse (walk-up 9am to 6.30pm Satuday and Sunday)
  • Dandenong Plaza (9am to 5pm Saturday and Sunday)
  • Frankston’s Bayside Centre (walk-up 9.30am to 5pm Saturday and Sunda)
  • Sunshine Hospital (walk-up 8am to 8pm)
  • Bendigo Vaccination Hub (walk-up 9am to 8pm)
  • Ballarat Mercure (walk up 8.30am to 3pm Sunday)
