Political party founder’s not-so-subtle response to Daniel Andrews question
Australian Values Party founder Heston Russell has branded Victoria’s political class a “self-licking ice-cream” and is calling for change.
The Angry Victorians Party is a branch of the Australian Values Party and will run a candidate, Chris Burson, at the upcoming state election.
Both Russell and Burson served in the Australian Defence Force.
Russell told Neil Mitchell it was “time to cut through politics” and get “people” back in parliament.
“We are going to go out there with a platform focusing on accountability and giving people more control of their own lives, and also focusing on taking on mental health and suicide prevention, which is where our party sort of started from – campaigning for the Royal Commission on veteran suicide,” he said.
He also left little to the imagination when asked by Neil Mitchell to “sum up” Daniel Andrews.
