Police union sets out 59 demands ahead of the November state election
The police union has set out 59 demands it wants both political parties to commit to ahead of the November state election.
The wish list includes drug-testing kits in every patrol car, riot gear for all officers and upgrades of many metropolitan police stations.
Police Association secretary Wayne Gatt, who compiled the list, says the requested changes will benefit the community.
“What’s good for policing is always good for the community,” he told Ross and Russel.
Mr Gatt says it’s important the government elected in November provides “continued resource commitments”, to get more frontline police on our streets.
“It’s important for the community that their police force grows with the community,” he said.
