Police search for strange-moving man over attempted house break-in and other burglaries

Police are trying to identify a strange-moving burglar who attempted to break into a Footscray home last week.

Police said it was believed the burglar and another man got out of a silver Volkswagen Golf on Shepherd Street and broke into a car stealing sunglasses and other personal items just before 7am.

One of the men, wearing a high-vis top, then attempted to break into the Shepherd Street house.

He left empty handed.

But police believe the same duo drove to Droop Street later that morning and stole a multi-tool kit from a car.

It is believed they also attempted to steal a car in Lindenow Street in Maidstone the same morning.
