Police officers confirmed close contacts of COVID-19 positive protester
Police officers have been confirmed as close contacts of a COVID-positive protester who attended a rally in Melbourne’s CBD on Wednesday.
It has not been confirmed how many officers have been identified as close contacts, who will now have to get tested and isolate.
There are fears Wednesday’s protest, which ended up at the Shrine of Remembrance, could become a super-spreader event.
The COVID-positive protester is currently receiving treatment in hospital.
