‘Never seen anything like it’: Shop owner shaken up after protesters storm Northcote Plaza
Police have made arrests from a small anti-lockdown protest that converged on Northcote Plaza on Friday afternoon.
Around 100 protesters made their way through the plaza and neighbouring All-Nations Park at around 2pm.
They were heard shouting “every day” in what is the fifth day of protests.
A large police presence quickly broke up the gathering.

Mary, who’s owned a shop in Northcote Plaza for sixteen years, told Heidi Murphy the protesters stormed through the plaza.
“It was quite overwhelming, and very, very noisy, screaming and swearing and it was quite unsafe,” she said.
“We were all quite shaken, we’ve never seen anything like it.
“The riot police stood outside, lined up for about five or ten minutes on all the entrances, and then walked in and dispersed them in a normal manner.”
