Police investigating if violent teen carjacking is linked to ‘disgraceful’ CBD violence
New details have emerged about a violent carjacking at Dandenong North that may be linked to what police have described as a “disgraceful” night of violence in Melbourne’s CBD.
Two youths, aged 15 and 17, have been arrested and charged after a 53-year-old man was stabbed multiple times and had his Porsche stolen on Stud Road at 10pm on Saturday night.
The vehicle was found on Queen Street in the city around 3am Sunday, and the victim, a 53-year-old Reservoir man, is in hospital in a stable condition.
Police are continuing to investigate whether the violent carjacking is linked to any of the brawls in Melbourne’s CBD.
One man died in hospital and several others suffered serious injuries in three separate brawls on Bourke Street, King Street as well as in Southbank.
Acting Superintendent Troy Papworth says it’s also unclear whether any of the incidents were gang-related.
