Police investigate after an alleged sexual assault at the Australian Open

A woman has allegedly been indecently assaulted at the tennis.

Police say the incident happened at Melbourne Park at around 6.45pm.

It prompted police to close Olympic Boulevard as they searched for the alleged offender.

Pedestrians couldn’t get through and traffic was stopped causing chaos for tennis fans leaving the Australian Open.

The road reopened at about 10.30pm.

No-one has been arrested and police say the investigation continues.
