Police hunt for ‘yellow-nailed’ man after sexual assault on the 86 tram

Police wish to speak with a man over an alleged sexual assault on a tram at the the weekend.

Investigators have been told a 19-year-old woman was on the No.86 tram from the CBD to Bundoora when the man approached her.

He is then alleged to have sexually assaulted her while making comments about her clothing.

The woman then got off the tram at Reservoir.

The man was wearing a black hooded jacket with white text on either side of the zip and a white t-shirt.

He is described as caucasian, aged around 50 and about 170cm tall with short grey hair and stubble.

Police have been told the man had distinctive yellow nails and stunk of urine.
