Police forced to shut down train station due to security concerns

UPDATE: Train services are back up and running in Melbourne’s west after a security scare briefly shut down Footscray station on Friday.

A suspicious object was found unattended about 4.30pm.

Several lines were shut down as a result.

The Bomb Response Unit has been called.

The package wasn’t dangerous and the area has since been declared safe.
