Police commissioner provides fresh details on Samantha Murphy murder charge

Victoria Police Chief Commissioner Shane Patton has spoken to the media after a 22-year-old was charged with the murder of Samantha Murphy.

He revealed police found the 22-year-old “through a range of investigative outcomes”.

He also said police will allege the man from Scotsburn murdered the 51 year old mother at Mount Clear on the day she went missing.

“He has not disclosed to police where the body is,” he told media on Thursday afternoon.

He also revealed police will allege it was a deliberate act.

“He has been charged with murder, so by that definition, we’re saying this was a deliberate attack on Samantha,” he stated.

Police are urging anyone with any other detail on the alleged murder to contact Crime Stoppers.
