Police charge Victorian MP over sale of property
Police have charged Nationals MP Tim McCurdy over the sale of a property conducted when McCurdy was a real estate agent, before he entered parliament.
The member for Ovens Valley is stepping down from his Shadow Ministry responsibilities as he fights the allegations in court.
He professed his innocence in a statement released this afternoon.
“I am innocent of these allegations and I await the opportunity to defend myself in court and clear my name. Victoria Police has notified me this morning that I have been charged with a number of alleged offences that relate to a property sale conducted before I entered Parliament, when I was a real estate agent.”
