Police call for public help after violent armed robbery in Melbourne’s west

Police are calling for help to identify a man who held a knife to a shop attendant and demanded cash.

Investigators have been told the man visited a Wyndham Vale kiosk at about 6am on February 2.

He approached a female staff member and demanded cash. When she refused, he left and attended a Ballan Road fast-food restaurant, where he grabbed a staff member who was cleaning the store.

He held a knife to her and forced her to the front counter while demanding other staff hand over cash.

They complied and no one was injured.

Police have released an image of a man they want to speak to in relation to the incident.
