Volunteers helping save aquatic life after the floods

Rural News

Volunteers are rescuing aquatic animals from the Murray River as heavy rain in the country’s east causes havoc.

Severe flooding has triggered a large-scale hypoxic ‘black water’ event, starving waterways of oxygen.

Rural reporter Rhiannon Soliman-Marron caught up with Braeden Lampard from OzFish Unlimited, who has been working with volunteers in Victoria’s north-west to rescue suffocating crayfish from the river.
