Tom Elliott calls for more public debate on immigration policy
Tom Elliott wants the public to have a bigger say in immigration policy.
The 3AW Drive host said there’s no reason why the public was consulted over same-sex marriage, but not over an issue that is “crucial to the nature of our country”.
“I, for one, am sick of being dictated to by both sides of politics on this issue,” Tom said.
“Don’t talk down to us. Ask us what we want.”
Tom said Australia doesn’t have the infrastructure to sustain a population growing at the rate it is.
“I think we should stabilise our population,” he said.
