Shearer shortage forcing wool producers to get creative

Wool producers are concerned there won’t be enough shearers this spring, for the third year in a row.

The workforce has been in decline since 20-20, while sheep numbers have risen since the drought broke that same year.

Rural reporter Ella Smith spoke to Shearing Contractors Association of Australia secretary Jason Letchford about how concerned he is for the shearing season ahead, and what wool producers are doing to fill the gaps.
