New catchment regulations, causing “g-reef”
Sustained pressure from farmers throughout the Queensland reef catchments has persuaded the State Government to hold Reef Bill hearings in affected regions this week.
The proposed changes would see fines handed out to landholders who fail to comply, locking a number of industries into the 20-19 model, leaving no room for innovation in years to come.
We caught up with AgForce General President, Georgie Somerset to give us some insight on the issue.
