Horticulture worker provisions – hard to get the head around.
The Victorian Farmers Federation is concerned 14 days to implement new overtime provisions for casual horticulture workers, isn’t enough.
The Fair Work Commission’s new laws will come into effect from the 15th of April.
Growers will pay 15-per cent ‘night loading’ for employees working overtime rates if they work more than 12 hours per day or 304 hours over eight weeks.
We caught up with V-F-F Horticulture President Emma Germano for an in-depth chat about the provisions.
