Gerard Healy’s message for critics of the AFL’s Mouncey decision

Gerard Healy has hit back at critics of the AFL’s decision regarding Hannah Mouncey.

The transgender woman was barred from entering the AFLW draft, held on Wednesday.

While many have criticised the decision, Healy told Sportsday it was a difficult one to reach.

“The hyper-critical response has presented it as a simple black-and-white case,” he said.

“Clearly it wasn’t.

“Given the complexity of the issue, I find it very difficult to comprehend how you can be so emphatic that it’s the wrong call.”
