Genome map could lead to more disease resistant prawns

Researchers have successfully mapped the genome of an iconic seafood species.

They’ve been working on the project for around six years, aiming to improve the productivity and efficiency of farming black prawns, using genetic selection.

I caught up with James Cook University Aquaculture Professor Dean Jerry to hear more about the process.
