Feral deer costing farmers millions
The impact of feral deer is costing the agriculture industry 70 million dollars a year – and the price tag is expected to rise unless action is taken.
There are between one and two million deer across the country, most of them in New South Wales and Victoria.
Rural reporter Ella Smith spoke to National Deer Management Coordinator Dr Annelise Wiebkin about the damage caused by the pests, and what plans are in place to stop their spread.
