Essendon residents upset with handling of Buckley St level crossing removal

Essendon residents are upset over a local level crossing.

Locals want the level crossing at Buckley Street to be resolved by diverting trains under the intersection, but the Level Crossing Removal Authority has opted for a road-under-rail outcome.

Roz Shaw from Save Buckley Street told Tom Elliott it’s worth the extra investment.

“What we are getting… is basically a cheap, sub-standard quick fix,” Ms Shaw said.

“It’s going to split the community.”
