Dairy farmers concerns over fall in supermarket milk prices
Dairy farmers are concerned a drop in the price of home brand milk could be the start of a new “milk war”
The cost supermarket brand milk has fallen for the first time since 2011 with Coles and Woolworths now selling their own-brand milk for less than two dollars a litre.
Independent farmers warn it is making it more difficult to compete.
Rural Editor Emily Minney spoke with Australian Dairy Farmers President Ben Bennett, who is concerned the cheaper product will put more pressure on already struggling businesses.
