Aussie stuck in Peru pleads for better communication from the Federal Government
Christene Squires is 2 months into a 3 month trip around the world, but is now stuck in Peru amid a coronavirus lockdown.
Christene tells Luke Grant there are 350 fellow Australians stranded in Peru, unable to find a way home. Two emergency flights will reportedly arrive in South America this week, to rescue stranded Australians, but according to Christene, there’s a lot of uncertainty.
“The $5000 evacuation being advertised is up in the air.
“There are rumours the government will cancel all future evacuation flights as of today”.
So far in Peru, there are 200 reported cases of coronavirus and 4 deaths.
