‘Plenty of logic’: Make it 16 campaign receives support from experts and MPs
A top clinical psychologist of adolescent development at the University of Oregon says there’s plenty of logic behind a new campaign to lower the voting age.
Nick Allen told Neil Mitchell there’s not much difference between the average 16-year old and 18-year old.
“There’s nothing magical that happens at the age of eighteen, if you look at the average 18-year old and the average 16-year old, they’ve got a pretty similar cognitive ability, they’ve got a pretty similar life experience,” he said.
