Planning professor takes Tim Pallas to task over misleading Victorians

Tim Pallas has been accused of trying to mislead the public over the airport rail link.

Professor of environment and planning at RMIT, Michael Buxton, says the treasurer is trying to blame the airport corporation.

“Whereas the real reason is they don’t have money,” he told Jacqui Felgate.

He also took aim at the state government’s decision to continue the Suburban Rail Loop project, despite promises to improving services in the outer western suburbs.

“The government is putting all its money into the Suburban Rail Loop, that isn’t really going to help anybody for 10, 15, 20 years,” he said.
