Peter Ford gives the full context to Basil Zempilas’ ‘hot mic’ moment

Perth Lord Mayor Basil Zempilas has been caught out in a “hot mic” moment before a press conference, having been accused of making a disparaging comment about women’s tennis.

Entertainment reporter Peter Ford said Zempilas is certainly experiencing how “mean” the world of state politics can be, but decided to clarify what Zempilas actually meant with his comment.

“I’d be surprised if people still want to really go after him in the way that they have been,” Ford said.
