Entertainment reporter Peter Ford says Melbourne could be regretting relinquishing hosting rights to the Logies considering its strong ratings this year.

Australian entertainment night of nights took place in Melbourne for 30 years, but moved interstate in 2017 after the Victorian Government withdrew funding.

After huge interest in this year’s event, which was held in Sydney, Pete Ford told 3AW Breakfast the state could be left to rue its decision to not host the major event.

“A huge chunk of the audience stayed almost until midnight,”

“Entertainment still can’t rate – don’t you think it’s a shame Melbourne let (the event) go.”
