Person suffers upper-body injury in incident at Malmsbury
A worker has been taken to hospital after he was attacked at the Malmsbury Youth Justice Centre.
Ambulance Victoria released a statement on Wednesday afternoon, explaining what had happened.
Emergency services responded to the incident just after 1pm.
The victim, aged in his 40s, is in a stable condition with an injury to the upper body.
Police said the injuries were not life threatening.
It’s believed the young offender was on remand in the high security unit and used a broom handle fashioned into a shiv.
