Patient sounds alarm over ‘frightening’ situation in a Melbourne COVID-19 ward

A patient in The Alfred Hospital’s COVID-19 ward says the strain nurses are under is “frightening”.

“The nurses are so under the pump, it’s just frightening. There’s just not enough of them,” Sam told Neil Mitchell.

Sam is sharing a room with a 100-year-old man, who she says is enduring lengthy waits after calling nurses for help, and two days ago her medication was 11 hours late.
