Parks Victoria spending questioned after credit card bill tops $2 million in one year
The government has called for an urgent review after Parks Victoria spent $2.2 million on credit cards in one year, splurging taxpayer money on dinners, accommodation and take-away.
It includes spending at city restaurants, bars, take-away stores, Kathmandu, IKEA and JB Hi-Fi.
One employee went to KFC Hastings seven times and spent nearly $300 on fried chicken to trap feral cats.
Minister Lily D’Ambrosio says she wants answers by Friday.
‘It’s vital Victorians have confidence that our statutory authorities are complying with best practice standards, are working in a responsible and efficient manner and are always using taxpayer money appropriately,’ she said.
