Parents urged to ‘get back to basics’ with birthday parties for kids

It’s been reported parents taking their children to birthday parties are increasingly copping a nasty financial surprise and being asked to pay for their child’s attendance, and sometimes their own.

One parenting educator says Instagram could be to blame.

“There is no need to have these elaborate, fancy, over the top kids parties with entertainers and balloon arches,” Dannielle Miller told 3AW Breakfast.
