The parents of two teenagers targeted in alarming incidents in Melbourne’s south-east have shared concerning new details.

A 14-year-old boy has been left fighting for life after allegedly being forced into a grey Volkswagen Tiguan while walking home from Glen Eira College on Monday.

Russell told Neil Mitchell his daughter was with the boy when the disturbing attack occurred.

“Thank god there was an off-duty ambulance … very, very close to where it happened, so he was tended to very quickly,” he said.

Yvonne’s 15-year-old daughter was robbed on Kambrook Road a short time before the boy was targeted on nearby Neerim Road.

“There was a group of them in the car, and they had machetes, and hey started yelling at them to give them their things,” she told Neil Mitchell.

“She’s quite beside herself and so am I because we’ve always felt very safe in this area and in Melbourne, and now it’s changed.”

Police are investigating whether the two incidents are linked.
