Outgoing RMH CEO says emergency medicine is struggling
The outgoing chief executive officer of the Royal Melbourne Hospital says emergency medicine is struggling with people presenting with more complex issues which take longer to deal with.
Christine Kilpatrick told Neil Mitchell more families are reluctant to send their elderly relatives to residential aged care.
“Probably related to the experience during COVID and that means people are staying in hospital longer,” she said.
