Original Vegemite girl looks back on iconic ad

As Vegemite celebrates its 100th anniversary – the original Vegemite girl in the iconic 1959 ad has looked back on her experience.

Trish Cavanagh says she was excited to do the ad as a seven-year old.

“Going out to the Pagewood studio and getting into our uniforms and then being chosen to go on top of the jar to eat the vegemite on toast was just an amazing thing … to do,” she told Heidi Murphy, filling in for Neil Mitchell.
