Op shop items seem to be going up in price

Are op shop prices going up? That’s the question Neil Mitchell raised this morning.

Listener Aimee emailed overnight after she found jeans in an op shop for $25 and thought it was too expensive. 

So Neil sent program producer Michael Hilder out to investigate.

Michael visited the Sacred Heart Mission Op Shop in South Melbourne.

He undertook an experiment and pretended he was off to a party on Saturday night. 

He wanted jeans, a shirt, shoes and a jacket.

That entire outfit cost $155.

Too much? 

Michael also found other pricey items.
