‘One size fits all’: Qantas stops catering for dietary requirements on some flights

Qantas has stopped offering meals catering to dietary requirements on some flights.
Environmentalist Jon Dee was flying from Adelaide to Sydney on Sunday when he was told the chicken pie was the only option on the menu, and vegetarian options would no longer be guaranteed on flights under three and a half hours in duration.
“They said ‘it’s one size fits all now’,” Mr Dee told Tony Jones, filling in for Neil Mitchell.
“I’ve always automatically had the vegetarian option.
“If you need certain types of food for health reasons, like gluten free or dairy free, or you need food for religious reasons … you can no longer get that.”
Mr Dee says he’ll no longer fly with the airline.

Qantas has confirmed the change. The airline says the reduced meal options on some domestic flights began in June 2020.
