Westpac’s attempts to become ‘the happiest place on earth’
One of the big four banks has run a Disneyland themed course for its Melbourne staff this week.
Westpac is aiming to make its organisation more likeable by teaching from the Disneyland handbook.
A Tom Elliott listener told his Drive program of the “fabulous” training day and sent the below photos.
Jacqui, who works for the bank, told Tom Elliott the workshop was effective.
“It was amazing,” she said.
“It was all about what Disney do for their customers.”
“None of this negativity.”
Tom questioned how Disneyland related to banking.
3AW Drive has been told staff were taught how to smile and be nice to customers, while taking part in activities such as Mickey Mouse colouring in.
We’ve been working to improve our customer service and since Disney is renowned worldwide for providing great customer service, we’ve engaged The Disney Institute to run a service training program for some of our employees.
