One man dead and another fighting for life after two horror crashes overnight

Two horror crashes overnight have left one man dead and another man fighting for life.

A man had died after crashing into a car which was parked in the emergency lane on the Western Freeway in Caroline Springs.

Police say the Nissan SUV crashed into a parked white Holden Commodore just after 10.30 last night.

The driver of the Nissan, a 60-year-old Rockbank man, died at the scene.

It’s believed no one was in the parked car at the time of the crash.

Meanwhile, a man is fighting for life after a fiery crash at Tarneit early this morning.

The motorist’s black sedan burst into flames after crashing near the corner of Tarneit and Ankuri roads at 2am.

No other vehicles were involved in the crash.

Emergency services extinguished the blaze and transported the victim to hospital with critical injuries.

Police investigating the cause of the crash and are appealing for anyone with dashcam or CCTV footage to come forward.
